First National Bank Bemidji Foundation Awards $33,000 to Support Neilson Fieldhouse
October 10, 2025The First National Bank Bemidji Foundation has announced a $33,000 grant to the Bemidji Indoor Sports Commission (BISC) to support the revitalization of the Neilson Fieldhouse, formerly known as the Neilson Reise Arena, a long-standing community facility that closed in 2020.

The BISC, a collaborative effort between Bemidji Girls Fastpitch Softball, Bemidji Youth League Baseball, and Bemidji Youth Soccer, is spearheading the project to transform the arena into a modern, multi-purpose sports and community space. Located in Bemidji’s city park within the Bemidji Curling Club building, the revitalized facility will provide year-round opportunities for young athletes.
“On behalf of our youth programs and the Bemidji Indoor Sports Commission, we extend our heartfelt thanks to First National Bank Bemidji Foundation for their generous support of the Neilson Fieldhouse revitalization. Their contribution will have a lasting impact on our community, helping create a vibrant, year-round space where young athletes can grow, connect, and thrive. This investment strengthens not only our programs, but the future of youth sports in Bemidji.”
The Neilson Fieldhouse project is expected to provide a much-needed indoor space for youth sports and community use, strengthening Bemidji’s reputation as a hub for athletics and recreation.
