1st Net Connection FAQ

What is 1st Net Connection?

1st Net Connection connects you with your First National Bank Bemidji accounts via your personal computer (PC). Your PC and an Internet connection allow you to conduct your banking through the Internet,  including checking your balance, transferring money between your accounts, paying First National Bank loans and paying other bills.

How much does 1st Net Connection Cost?

1st Net Connection is free. However, if you choose to use 1st Net Bill Pay, the cost is $2.00 per month with a $.25 charge per item or $20 annually with a $.25 charge per item. You may sign up for 1st Net Bill Pay  for a free three-month trial by visiting us at one of our four convenient locations.

What is 1st Net Bill Pay?

1st Net Bill Pay eliminates checks, stamps and paperwork because it pays any bill to anyone. 1st Net Bill Pay allows you to make your payments from your First National Bank Bemidji Checking Account to the party you owe on the date you specify.

You can:

  • Set up automatic payments for recurring bills of same amounts - such as your mortgage or cable TV bill

  • Make single payments for different amounts at different times- such as your phone or utility bill

  • Send money to any individual in the US

  • Review upcoming scheduled payments and make changes or cancel them

How do I log on to 1st Net Connection for the first time?

Customers with accounts at First National Bank Bemidji may sign up for 1st Net Connection by completing the 1st Net Connection enrollment form. Choose the "New User" button.  This will bring you to an information page about 1st Net Connection After reading this important information, press the "Enroll" button - and the enrollment screen will be ready for you to input your information.  

How do I change my password?

To change your password at any time, click the "Change Password" button. This is found at the top of any page of your account information. This will bring you to the "Change Password" screen where you will enter your new password (follow the format required listed on the screen). You will need to confirm your new password and press the "Submit" button.  Please remember that your Access ID and Password are "case sensitive".  If you use a combination of capital letters and small letters, you must use that exact combination when you enter your Access ID and Password.

What happens if I forget my 1st Net Connection password?

You have three chances to enter your correct password. If, after the third attempt, you are unable to access your accounts, please contact us at 333-4369 for assistance.  After hours or weekends, please contact us through e-mail at fnbbem@paulbunyan.netPlease remember that your Access ID and Password are "case sensitive".  If you use a combination of capital letters and small letters, you must use that exact combination when you enter your Access ID and Password.

For security reasons, continued invalid attempts may lock 1st Net Connection access to your accounts. If you need to contact us regarding this access, please provide us with the security phrase you've entered as your Security Question. This will allow us to identify you and give you a new password.  We suggest, for further security, you change your password immediately.

How can I use 1st Net Connection to help with balancing my checking account?

You can export your account transactions into spreadsheet or financial software such as Quicken or Microsoft Money or others.

How do I properly exit/quit 1st Net Connection?

To properly exit/quit 1st Net Connection, you must click on the "log off" button.  This button is available at the top of any page of your 1st Net Connection account information.

What are the software and hardware requirements? 

All that you need to use 1st Net Connection is a secure browser and any computer that accesses the Internet. You may use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5+ or Netscape Navigator 6.0+. These browsers support secure transactions over the Internet using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. 

You may  download a free browser at any of these sites on the Internet:  Internet Explorer , Netscape., Firefox, Opera, IE for the Mac or Safari for the Mac

1st Net Connection is best viewed when your screen resolution is set at 800 x 600 or higher.
